AlphaVu Celebrates 15 Years, Welcomes New Chief Technology Officer
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The new year marks the 15th anniversary for AlphaVu, the public opinion analytics firm based in the nation’s capital.
The company’s founder and CEO Scott Wilkinson started the company in 2009. Wilkinson’s focus was and is on providing insights and analysis of quickly changing public opinion in the complex communications environment. AlphaVu has since grown to support public agencies, municipalities, and public infrastructure organizations across the United States.
Wilkinson’s company has managed or assisted with analytics efforts for local tax initiative projects in Los Angeles, Austin, Oklahoma City, Riverside County, and Grand Rapids. AlphaVu has provided opinion analytics for major infrastructure capital projects in Dallas, Houston, San Jose, and the Washington DC metro region. As a result, AlphaVu has contributed to the support of tens of billions of dollars in public projects.
“Over the last five years, AlphaVu has given us insights on public perception that we’ve used to regain ridership and garner support for a major expansion of our transit system,” said Dottie Watkins, president and CEO of Capital Metro in Austin, Texas. “We congratulate Scott and the entire team at AlphaVu on their 15-year milestone.”
“We owe our success over the last 15 years to the clients who have relied on us to provide insights they need to serve their communities,” said Wilkinson. “Agencies trust AlphaVu because our team and technology help them see what their constituents actually think and want.”
New Chief Technology Officer Joins AlphaVu
As AlphaVu increases its investments in artificial intelligence and cloud computing, the company is adding a Chief Technology Officer to oversee the strategic direction of its technology advancements. Mitchell Parsons has been selected as AlphaVu’s first-ever CTO, and he joins the firm with over a decade of experience in technology leadership.
In Parsons’ former roles as Chief Cloud Officer and Software Engineer, he supported clients in both the private and public sectors. His prior public agency clients include the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada and the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority. For LA Metro, Parsons led initiatives that improved customer experience measurement and created new systems for measuring customer sentiment and feedback from the agency’s call center data.
AlphaVu selected Parsons for the key leadership role because of his deep experience in cloud computing, security and privacy standards, and data management. Parsons earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Systems Engineering from the University of Regina, located in the capital city of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan.
“I’m thrilled to have Mitchell on board as our first CTO. AlphaVu must continually evolve the tools and technology we use to support our clients. We’re fortunate to have Mitchell’s guidance in optimizing our current suite of solutions, and he’ll be instrumental in building and delivering innovations that move our clients forward,” said Wilkinson.
In recent years, AlphaVu has deployed artificial intelligence to improve efficiency in sorting through large data sets. Advancements in AI technology now allow AlphaVu’s clients to study their community efficiently and accurately by creating models of public opinion. This method is a cost-effective way to gauge interest in potential solutions for matters important to communities before they are placed on the ballot.
AlphaVu has plans to release new AI-powered products to its clients in spring 2024.
